Uzbek Embroidered Tapestry from The Jack A. and Aviva Robinson Collection.

Uzbek Embroidery in the Nomadic Tradition: The Jack A. and Aviva Robinson Collection.
Through August 26

This exhibit explores the tradition of non-utilitarian embroidery in Central Asia.   As nomads the creators of these works of art spent their lives along the Silk Road.   The work on display was created between 1880 and 1930 as the nomadic Samarkand and Bukhara peoples settled into agrarian society.
