Fresh Cut: An International Exhibition of the American Society of Botanical Artists

Runs through Oct. 2

Fresh Cut examines the historical art of botanical illustration with fresh eyes. Historically botanical artists carefully catalogued entire families of plants for research and documentation. The practice of this art can be seen throughout history and across cultures as people explored the symbolism and curative powers of plants. In recent years, botanical illustration has had a rebirth. Many artists from around the world are exploring the beauty of this traditional artform and combining it with the aesthetic sensibility of comtemporary art. Images from several countries and 52 artists are on display in this exhibit.
