What Troublesome Times We Live In

by Kable Reid

This issue we will put the spotlight on the musical artist known as Troublesome. Like many Chicago natives that have moved to Minneapolis, Trouble has found a home here in Minnesota and a respect for our local music scene. With that said, here is my little blurb about how he has developed and is now trying to bring this Chi Town/ Mpls flavor to other states. Hope you enjoy… but if not…Don’t blame me… The Devil Made Me Do It!!

Trouble was raised in the Englewood area of the south side of Chicago. As a child he took to music early from listening to what is now called “dusties” and fellow family members humming spirituals. In sixth grade he joined the school choir and continued to sing and take a few piano lessons until 1994. From those experiences Trouble began to write and develop his own visions and musical ideas.

In 1997 Trouble’s desire was to implement his own record label. That dream came true in 1998 when he formed Gorilla Records. His dedication and unselfish regard for others along with a little persistence has helped to mold him into the person he is today. In the many jobs Trouble has had in his short life, he found being a people person and a team player, was his true talent.

Trouble just recently finished recording his second album, which will be his first major release titled “Death Is Callin’ II (The Devil Made Me Do It)”. The album was written and produced solely by Troublesome and was released on Gorilla Records in early October of 2004. The first single “Stay From Round Me” was released in late August.

Trouble is currently producing for J-Streetz, whose album “Nothing To Lose” is scheduled to follow up “The Devil Made Me Do It” and Calico Jones, who is scheduled to follow J-Streetz album. Trouble is also currently setting up his Devil Made Me Do It college tour to follow up all the college radio buzz he has been getting since the release of his album in October.

Aside from the music, Trouble is also working diligently to start his non-profit organization Music-R-Us in which he says he will give kids a chance to do something else after school other than basketball and football. Trouble is a proud father of two children, which gives him great pleasure in working with children. As a writer and producer Trouble promises to bring something different to the game.
