For the Spring 2005 season, men’s fashion is only growing stronger. The influence of seasons past slowly hint toward more trend and color only helping add to the acceptance that men’s customers will now have this spring. Colors become more confident with the mixing of unusual brights and patterns, while the styles become more clean and streamlined. Follow along and you’ll hear more about some of the strongest looks for the season.

Preppy Chic is influencing the men’s market tremendously and in many ways. You will see smarter, casual style dressing. The 50’s vacation look of tailored straight leg khakis and a camp shirt is important. Wear this look with a trilby hat. If that does not suit you then maybe the preppy sportswear side of this trend is your style. A rugby shirt would be key to this look. Bright colored stripes most commonly tie back to a white collar and cuff bringing back memories of 80’s preppy style.

Another big influence on this season is the Global Eclectic look. Both are shown natural and brightly colored. The prints and textures from many cultures mixing together are showing a strong ethnic influence. Tee shirts are decorated; Kaftans become important and natural materials. It is a very rich, earthy look that has the ability to give the men’s market some exciting tops to tie back to whatever their personal favorite bottoms are.

The men’s market is more exciting that it has ever been right now so don’t be intimidated by how in your face it is. The reality is there are many easy ways to add just a touch in your own way. So when you are ready to pull your head out of our bleak Minnesota winters, have fun this spring!
