The work of 20th century painter Beauford Delaney is currently on display at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Delaney is considered an American Modernist and is respected for his innovation and technical complexity. This exhibit compares work from his New York years with work done in Paris after his move there in 1953. These paintings are colorful rich and stylistically diverse.

While visiting MIA, stop by the small Cartier-Bresson exhibit in the main lobby. Known for capturing spontaneous instants of movement and beauty, Cartier-Bresson’s photos are considered some of the best ever made. He died in August 2004, and these images from the permanent collection are on view to pay homage to the great photographer.
