One-Tu Punch

by Kable Reid

This is just a quick little tidbit about a group that I met a while back. I said I would write a little ditty about them. So here it goes….

TLA & Charleston combine to form the group One-Tu. A coalition of infinite talent honed through the intricate skills at www.cipher2.com Cipher-Tu Productions aka C2p. TLA began his journey through the realm of Hip hop in November of 1998. TLA, the driving force, had done research and development in many areas of Hip hop including producing, engineering, and performing which has allowed him to establish a firm foundation toward the creation of a “Mid-Coastal Hip Hop”.

TLA says, “One-Tu spits rhymes to some of the illest beats alive. In the dawn of 1998, I was given a karaoke device as a gift. My frequent attempts at rapping over various commercial instrumentals began to develop my skills at an unprecedented rate. After two years of lyrical collaborations with Charelston, the idea for One-Tu emerged on the eve of the year 2000. My goal is to transform hip hop into my occupation and on an audio level touch all minds worldwide.”

From a critics point of view his beats are good and not the same old same type of sound. The delivery is ok for the most part and really shines on certain songs. Overall his songs are gritty, raw and very Minnesota sounding! I like it!  It is not the usual bragging or negative rhetoric.
