Hot, Hot, Hot

The hot summer months are fast approaching and the men's market, which has been depressed for the past few years, is getting as hot as the days of summer ahead.

The fashion category is simply stylish and wearable. Denim remains very strong and is an essential part of the summer wardrobe. White denim moves to the front of the closet and is offered in all price ranges, from Dolce & Gabbana to D Squared to Calvin Klein and Guess. Logo tees from Buffalo Jeans, French Connection and Joie are great to run around in. J. Lindebergh and G-Star deserve notice for a complete fitted look.

In sportswear, there is a shift from the basics. Look for more streamlined, fashion forward garments. The trend is toward dress up, jeans being worn with a sport coat and a great woven shirt. Woven shirts are huge in this category. They are great for dressing up an outfit.

Suits for the summer are also more fashion forward, with more streamlined and sartorial cuts. Fabrics are in cotton, cotton/lycra, cotton/linen and lightweight wools. The navy pinstripe in gingham is hot. The dress pant remains flat front or single pleat. Armani's flat front, along with John Varvatos and Krazia, are on my favorites list. Prada and Miu Miu open the legs of their pants with slim hips for a sexier silhouette.

Men's wear is heating up, just in time for the summer. Dress up and live life to the fullest!
