Variety of shows and dates running from mid February to mid March

The Center for Independent Artists is mounting a festival of one-woman shows throughout February and March. This series includes a variety of performances ranging from puppetry to Japanese folk tales to original Yiddish stories. In Nic Zapko's Visual Vernacular the artist goes so far as to eliminate sound and present purely gestural storytelling. Karen Haselmann's Puppet Head offers a giant puppet with a glowing shadow theater in its brain. One is sure to find something of interest in this unique and varied showcase. LisaL
