Red

What is the latest color of Minneapolis? Red, of course! So what does that mean to you? That means a restaurant with the courage to attempt a menu that includes over eighty items, one of them with a live fish garnish. It is located in the old Un, Deux, Trois space on 9th and Nicollet but they have taken the old French bistro and turned it into the latest upscale dining establishment meets late hours nightclub. Their goal is to be creative and innovative by "drawing on the best moments in global history, art and food". Chef Marianne Miller captures this idea in her playful and inventive menu.

The whimsical design has four sections titled "Ocean, Air, Land and Earth" and is international in concept. Where else will you find items such as Calico Quinoa with seasonal baby squash, wild mushrooms and chanterelle tea ($13.50) or John Dory Battleship Sushi ($8.00)? They also offer both a Blini Menu with options including Prosciutto, Asparagus Tips and Cointreau Emulsion ($6) or Osetra Caviar, Lemon and Crème Fraîche ($12) and a Caviar menu that rivals anything offered thus far in Minneapolis. The a la carte caviar menu offers Caviar, Crème Fraîche, Granité, Fresh Bread and Champagne Red Salmon ($18) or Sevruga ($20), Osetra ($30), Golden Osetra ($50), Beluga ($70) and All Black ($150). Desserts are just as fun with offerings including a Warm Chocolate Truffle with Swiss Ganache and Blood Orange Caramel ($8.50) or Fire-Roasted Fuji Apples, Vanilla Frozen Custard and Cinnamon Cajeta (6.85) and don’t forget to find Nemo by ordering the Tropical Fruit Salad which sits atop a bowl with a live clown fish swimming around ($8.25 but you can’t keep the fish!).
