The Great Cover-up!

by Rhonda Jackson

After fighting the holiday crowds, making it through the holiday celebrations and returning that wacky gift, isn't it time you give yourself some comfort? So, go ahead, cocoon, get comfy, light some candles, put on your favorite robe and slippers and give yourself a little TLC. Here are my favorite finds for winter-weathered skin, tired "post-holiday" limbs and overworked hair, hands, and feet! Out with the old and in with the new, take some time-out just for you!

Face
Let's face it; January's wicked winds can wreak havoc on your face and hands. Stay well protected with Welder's Everon Face Balm. This rich, super-concentrated cream, soothes, hydrates, and smells good…or should I say yummy. The sweet almond oil will have you hooked. If you're like me and have spent too many late nights wrapping gifts but can't figure out how you got the dark circles under your eyes, try Bliss labs' All Around Eye Cream. Whipped up with grape seed extract and vitamins C and E to revive and de-puff, you will feel like the clouds have been lifted! For those of you looking for the ultimate skin perk up, check out L'Occitane's Immortelle Elixir. This concentrated serum is packed with pure essential oils that not only revive, but also help to increase the skin's circulation and is definitely needed on those frosty days.

Body
Ready to wind down? Let your limbs relax in a warm, bubbling tub of Energizing Bath Essences from Aroma-Sothys. These tablets are packed with cardamom, neroli, and eucalyptus oils that completely dissolve under warm bath water – perfect for you travelers when you need to de-stress. Treat your limbs to a rub down with Pure Fiji's Exotic Bath and Body Massage Oil. This unique blend of light coconut oil and exotic nut extracts will smooth out the rough spots and leave your skin glistening. This could easily become an addiction. Hands down the crème de la crème in body creams is Laura Mercier's Body Soufflé in Crème Brulée. Once you open the jar I guarantee you won't know whether to slather it on or dip in with a spoon. This luxurious cream has super moisturizing benefits that leave your skin feeling like a babies bottom. The heavenly scent of Crème Brulée will have your partner asking for seconds.

Hands and Feet
Okay, this is one area you must take seriously, especially during the winter season. There is nothing worse than dry cracked skin that is continuously exposed to cold air. Keep your hands soft and protected with L'Occitane's Shea Butter Hand Cream. You can't beat this high concentration of shea butter, honey, almond, and coconut oil. Slather it on at night and you will wake up with the best-looking hands. Paying attention to your feet pays off in the long run. Not only will it make you feel better but your feet will also look better in those holiday heels. I love The Body Shop's Peppermint Feet Soak to soften and leave feet feeling tingly all over. Follow with Spa O.N.E's Brown Sugar Scrub (pure essential oils mixed with brown sugar to exfoliate) and your feet will feel revived and look fabulous!

Hair
Hair and scalp health can easily be neglected during the winter months. Heat, wool caps, and frosty winds can damage hair and dry your scalp. Treat your hair to Intensive Hair Mask by Prive. This luxurious, deeply conditioning treatment, is packed with jojoba, evening primrose, and sesame oil and will leave all hair types moisturized, shiny, and nourished. If your scalp is dry, you'll love Aveda's Scalp Benefits. This creamy conditioner moisturizes and balances the scalp using burdock root, sage and echinacea. And you thought echinacea was just for colds! A moisturizing shampoo that not only treats dry, overworked hair, but also gently cleanses and softens the body…yes, it really does exist! You must add Terax's shampoo in Miele (Honey) to your daily shower. Not only does it leave your hair super soft with natural honey and vitamin F but your body with feel like you just had a mini spa!

Happy New Year to a Happy New You!
